Frequently Asked Questions

I want packaging for my business that suits my brand. What would you recommend?

We recommend that in the short term you choose from our generic products to get the right size and paper weight (grammage) options for your brand.

In the meantime, begin our design process to create customised, branded bags for the long term.

Can you send samples?

Yes, we are happy to post samples to addresses in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK. Please contact us to request a sample.

Do you offer a print service?

Our entire generic range can be customised to meet your branding specifications. Additional sizes and products are also available, please contact us to find out how we can help you further.

Can I trust the accuracy of the colours in the product pictures?

Computer monitors can vary in how they display colours so if the exact colour of the item is important, please contact us for information on the colour’s “pantone code” or to request a sample or ink draw-down (send an ink sample to you on a piece of paper). Please note that there may be an additional cost for this service.

Can I buy 10-15 bags at a time (e.g. for a small event or hen party)?

The smallest quantities we sell are a box of bags (approx. 100-250 bags/box). Please check specific product pages for information on the number of bags per box.

How long does it take to get a custom order done?

Lead times for branded products can be 6-16 weeks from the date of artwork approval.

Are your products suitable for food use?

All products locally produced in Tipperary (marked with the Ashbury logo) are certified for food use. Please contact us for specific information about other products.

Can I mix and match the colours and sizes of bags in the box I order?

Bags are sold in boxes in the quantities indicated only.

We offer a “click and collect” option at checkout in case you want to collect your order in a hurry or want to avoid delivery fees. Your order can be collected from our Dublin store in Park West Industrial estate during our opening hours

Does delivery cost more for a bigger order?

A flat €9 delivery fee is applied at checkout to all paper bag and packaging deliveries in Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). This delivery fee is standard for all order sizes, no matter the number of items.

For orders over €100 +VAT, we offer free delivery!

What is your delivery time?

We estimate a 2-3 working day delivery time. Our courier will require a signature as proof of delivery.

If you are in Dublin, we can also offer point-to-point delivery for €17. This is most useful if you’re on Thursday afternoon/ Friday morning as otherwise your order won’t be dispatched until Monday.

Can I change my address once the order has been submitted?

We aim to dispatch orders on the same they are received so if you need to change the delivery address please contact us as soon as possible. The delivery address can be changed as long as changes are made before dispatch.

Can I leave specific delivery instructions?

We offer a text box to provide any extra information we can send to our couriers to assist with the successful delivery of your order. In instances where you would like goods to be left safe or with a neighbour, this can be noted here as any instruction left for the driver at the delivery point will unfortunately be ignored for security reasons. If you do choose to do this, this is strictly at your risk as with the nature of the request we cannot guarantee safe delivery and any shortage or non-delivery will not be compensated or sent out again. All deliveries will be delivered within the time frames indicated above, if you request delivery at a specific time within this, our couriers will endeavour to meet this, however their deliveries are scheduled centrally and it will not always be possible to deliver at your requested time. We would recommend that you provide us with alternative delivery instructions or leave safe instructions, however as stated previously this will be at your own risk.

The term “SOS” stands for “Self-Opening Satchel” which is a bag with no handles, characterised by its flat “block” bottom, allowing it to “stand up”. This “grab and go” design encourages users to carry the bag under their arm which is appropriate for carrying heavier loads.

We supply SOS bags made from the following paper types: 100% recycled kraft (brown paper), white, coloured paper, and heavyweight paper.
